Bankside Yards is reinvigorating London’s South Bank, whilst simultaneously paving the way in the UK through its sustainability initiatives, according to the Edge Malaysia.
Mark Campbell, Head of Private Transactions for Native Land, shared his thoughts on how the 5.5 acre development will impact the riverside destination:
“This will positively impact the Bankside locality and the wider South Bank area. This is an important element of our intention to offer the very best amenities side by side with world-class cultural institutions, top-tier businesses and a rich and varied community.”
The energy-sharing solutions being used at Bankside Yards have never been used in the UK before. The groundbreaking development, which comprises of eight different buildings, will all be part of a fifth-generation energy-sharing solution, which is 100% electric and uses air-sourced heat, with power from renewable sources. Arbor, the now completed 222,000 sq ft workspace and Opus – a 50-storey residential offering, providing a new era for sustainable living, currently under construction – will both benefit from this energy-sharing network from the outset. This translates to a 30% reduction in energy consumption of Arbor when compared to standard buildings.
