A ‘rising tide’ of American buyers are seeking Prime Central London homes as they look to relocate due to the political turbulence, The London Magazine reports.
There is a particular trend of west-coast Americans in seeking to relocate to the capital, as London’s property market offers a ‘safe haven for their capital’, The London Magazine shares. The South Bank in particular is proving to be a popular destination for US buyers. Banking the Thames at Blackfriars bridge, Opus and the surrounding historic railway arches at Bankside Yards, are set to transform this section of the river, including 3.3 acres to be opened to the public.
At the recent Opus launch party, American architect @Lee Polisano from @PLP Architecture, who designed the Bankside Yards complex including Opus, shared how Trump was a key reason why the London property market is appealing to US buyers currently.
Lucy Morton, head of residential at JLL added:
“We are seeing a strong vote of confidence from buyers…prime London homes remain a trusted investment, especially at the top of the market”. According to a recent Hamptons report, there has been a 20% increase in transactions so far this year compared to 2024.
