Developer reports strong early take-up at luxury South Bank tower, as five-star lifestyle offering hits the right note with wealthy buyers
The first resi building at Native Land’s £2.5bn Bankside Yards development has proven a hit with buyers, PrimeResi hears, with over £100mn worth of sales chalked up during the launch campaign.
The 50-storey Opus project made a big splash at the end of April, debuting 249 apartments promising 360-degree views of the capital – and a suite of five-star lifestyle and wellness amenities curated by New York urban architecture practice ODA.
Native Land tells us sales have now topped the £100mn mark, describing the proposition – due for completion in 2027 – as “a new blueprint for city living”. Units are priced from £895k and up, with Knight Frank and JLL handling sales.
The amenities have proven a key draw for purchasers, according to the team. On offer will be a padel court, podcasting and art studios, screening room, a Pilates and yoga studio, bouldering wall, hydrotherapy pool and current pool, spa and treatment rooms, healthcare suite, private landscaped gardens and co-working spaces. A double-height private members’ club-style lounge, bar and terrace will be opening on the 23rd floor.
In line to become PCL’s tallest resi building, Opus will be the second element to complete at Bankside Yards, following ESG-focused workspace, Arbor; a further six buildings will follow, including a new 171-key Mandarin Oriental hotel.
Fourteen Victorian railway arches – closed to the public for 150 years – are being brought back into use as part of the endeavour, and will eventually house 50,000 sq ft of shops, bars, restaurants and leisure spaces.
Native Land officially launched the Opus project with a big party under the arches in April, inviting 500 local, industry and society VIPs down to mark the occasion. A sales and marketing suite is also now up and running at Bankside Yards.
The firm’s current and future portfolio also includes PCL endeavours 100 George Street and Kilmuir House, along with a major revamp of South Kensington Underground Station and its surroundings.
